The last one

Hi there, today I am going to write my last blog so if you have to cray go on.
Writing different posts was pretty interesting and made me think about staff I did not have time or just did not think about before. Actually it would be a good idea to keep writing some posts just to keep practicing my English, but those are the kind of things you say but you do not do.
I really liked to think about a place I liked to walk, I never thought about it and the best part is that when I thought about it I remembered a great moment of my life. And there is also a blog I did not like much, to write in a personal blog webpage about something that does not have an opinion or anything related to the one that is writing is not very interesting.
I do not know if my English improved, but for sure keeps me training and as in sports, if you train you improve.

Francisca had interesting posts and I liked the way she wrote and thought about the posts. I also liked the posts of Agus and Ricardo.

Long 2016

Hey there,
We are very near of 2017 so today I am going to make a quick review of this 2016.
This year began great, well actually in Chile every year begins great because we are in holiday since the first day of the year until two more month. Every year for me was like that but this 2017 it is going to be different thanks to this messy 2016. Going back to why it began great. January and February were months when you are nowhere, I just finished my 12 years of school and I was not yet in University, so the feeling to not have anything like important at that moment was great. I began the year getting my driving license even if I was not 18 yet and with my friends we went one week to Algarrobo by our own. It was the first time we were without parents “living” one week. It was a great week, we were around 9 people in the house so it was also a mess.
When my gorgeous holiday ended my new career was begging. I met my first group friends in the “Alliance” days so my first week in classes I already had with who to talk with. Architecture was pretty interesting but the rumors that you sleep less began to be true, but thanks to that I began to listen to much more music like Soundtracks, 80´s music and new staff. I really liked it even that I began with pretty bad marks, but I ended the first term with one of the best projects of my class so that was incredibly awesome. I skipped the worst part of the year and that is the reason why I am writing this so next to Christmas. We had in the university two month of manifestations and after two month he had had wasted our time and future holiday. I hope next year we are going to be more intelligent and smart in our actions.

My second term is still going and I have no time for other things that is not university and I wish I could watch more movies because I really enjoy watching them, but I cannot say I did not watch some like the force awakens!!! (Could not waste my opportunity to watch it on the cinema) hehehe. And everything else is my life at FAU. That is another story ;)

Mr. Smith

Hey there,
How many celebrities do we know and we have heard about, we have seen or we think about how they are so famous even if they do not do anything smart or useful. In my case many times, actually when I think about it is ridiculous how many names I know of people I do not know. But also there are many nice people I would like to meet in real life and just shake a hand with him/her. I really like watching movies and one of my favorite actors is Will Smith. He is really a great actor, very complete and he has done many different rolls in his movies, for me the best movie is Seven Pounds (Hundred percent recommended).

When I was a child I saw him on TV doing a comedy program and then I saw more serious movies about how hard can life be and then some action movies. I would love to talk with him, I really think he is a good guy and that I can have a normal conversation without him being arrogant as maybe a chat with Robert Downy Jr. I would like to know how he chooses the movies he does and what sort of movies he likes playing in more. Also know more about his personal life, how he developed his skills and how does it feel being himself hahahaha. I really like his capacity to be serious and be nice, his voice is really convincing with the things he talks about. Well, just a great actor.

“environmental research” (sounds professional)

Hey there, today I am going to write about a subject I like at FAU. As we know workshop is the most important subject in Architecture so if you do not like it, it is difficult that Architecture likes you for real. Of course like Workshop, but I guess it is more interesting to write this time about another subject.
This term we began with a new subject called “environmental research” it is a kind of Urbanism class. It is a very nice and interesting subject because we have two teachers: the main teacher is Paola Velazquez and she is officially the teacher of urbanism, but we also have a sociologist that actually gives most of the classes, we have been investigating and analyzing, in my case, painters. In the beginning we began researching about all of them, but then I had to choose one. Alex is the name of “my” painter and it has been so nice to get to know so much about his life in Plaza de Armas. But going back to the class. Luis, the sociologist is so interesting to give classes, it really gets me interesting in how thing can be thought and how he, in a point of a sociologist, sees things.

I have this class every Wednesday from half past eight to twelve o´clock and why I think it can help in in the future is because architecture is made a crated for people. So he know how people think and how people behave and I feel that he transmits a little bit of that knowledge to us. I am glad I am having that mix of sociology and urbanism together and I hope it is going to be fruitful.

Sport !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there,
Hobbies are a great thing to have. It is funny that we have to write about a hobby we have or had, because since I entered to study architecture my free time has become almost none. I have great friends and I try to see them as much as I can, but maybe that cannot be considered like a hobby. When I was at school I also did not have much time, but that was because my hobby were sports. I never played basketball before entering to high school, but because it was a new school I could enter to the school basketball selection. It was great, sports are great. I began just with basketball, but I finished being in two selections of the school: football and basketball.
Four of the five days of school I had training after classes, but the schedule was terrible. Every day my normal classes finished at four o’clock. I had to wait one and a half hour for the training and train for another one and a half hour. So I was back home not before eight. Now that I am at the university sound normal hahaha. The point is that I really enjoyed (and still enjoy) doing sports. Actually I tried to play as many sports as I could at the gymnastic classes and before entering to high school I had tennis classes. So in conclusion I love sports and this term is the first time since I have memory that I am not doing a sport like a regular action. That will not happen the next term ;)

Kamaleon

Hey there,
There are two Chileans that I really like: Pablo Neruda and Stefan Kramer. I have been like 5 times to Neruda´s house in “Isla Negra” and I always discover new thing, new explanation about his collections and I love that place. But to admire someone I think that is Stefan Kramer.
Stefan Kramer is a guy that it cannot be more incredible. For the ones who do not know who he is; he is an imitator, actor who plays and exaggerates the famous people that are Chileans or related to Chile. He became so famous and so good that he made two movies where he is 17 characters of the first movie.
In my high school he had a big influence to me and my friends group, we began to imitate the imitations he did and it was sometimes the way we talked to each other, like imitating Arturo Vidal and his funny voice, to el Negro Piñera, Alexis Sanchez with his fast and horrible talk and even the ex-president from Chile Sebastian Piñera. His biggest and maybe best act was in Viña Del Mar´s festival in 2008. In that show he was simple perfect imitating the future president Piñera.
In the first movie he made he talks about his personal life, his wife and two children, and about how he began to imitate, so I recommend to everyone that movie, called Stefan vs Kramer.
I would love to meet him, but I think I would be in shock. I guess I would try to talk like one of his imitations and just hope he does the same. La familia los niños ahh?.... Fantastico.

Victroy City

Victory city says that is the city of the future. They say that they are going to deal with the biggest problems of  the now days big cities such as growth of slums, traffic congestion, air pollution, noise and much others. Well, actually they say it is going to be perfect.
The food will be grow up in the surrounding by the farms also owned by Victory City and the food is always going to be fresh and naturally raised. There is also a big plan for recreational activities and many areas for all kind of sports.

It is interesting a project that can deal with all the human necessities and I like that the food is going to be natural and that they think about sports. But actually I do not like this project, I feel that  ignors the earth problems and making something so “utopic” that have been planned in movies and always goes something wrong and people get brainwashed and controlled by the city, and i feel here it goes to that. We have to see how is this going to be developed. For sure this is an interesting project and opportunity for architects and even I am in the mood to try to help planning something in Victory City.

North Dakota Oil Pipeline Battle: Who’s Fighting and Why

Not far from the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, North Dakota; there is a conflict about the oil pipelines. The people form there do not want the big companies to make the pipeline from North Dakota to Illinois  because it is dangerous for the environment and those are ancestral lines. So there are protests and a lot of violence between them, but who knows that is going to happen.

Halloween without a mask

Hey there,
A four day weekend is like to be in heaven. You have time for life! I enjoyed my super weekend because I could do a little bit of everything, and even better, my weekend began on Friday. After class I went with my family to a Greek evening. 28th of October  is the “No” day of Greeks, so we went to a kind of Greek house to have dinner, listen to their music and dance with them. Everything began wrong, we entered to the event room one hour late and it was everything so disorganized and awkward. There was not much food and not all that was written on the menu was on the plate and when we asked why, they said that the person that had to cook it did not come. Big part of the waiters were women older than 50 and surely they were part of the family hahaha. But then we got relaxed because even that nothing worked well they were all happy and relaxed. Everything changed when the live music began, the people there were an easy public and the music made them all dance. But the best part was when four guys began to dance a Greek choreography, it was so harmonic and beautiful to see, they seemed so light and the dance looked so simple but later when I joined the dance circles it was not easy at all.
Saturday was half a work day half party. I went after an early lunch to the city to write a chronic then I continued to research about the place we are going to make a new project and finally I went to talk to a painter in “Plaza de Armas” for more than an hour. And after that I was invited to a party outside the city so I went to pick up my friends and drove us to a place that was like a farm. But well, that is another story what happened thereJ.

The rest of the weekend I worked and relaxed, more relaxed than work but it was cool. When is going to be another long weekend?

Music fills your soul up

Want to rain your brain? It is said that playing a music instrument is really good for ourselves.
Luckily I went to a school where we had a personal instrument lesson per week. So for 5 years I had piano lessons and I am so grateful for that.

I did not like the post much because I saw a video once that really explained the effects that happen in your brain when u play music and was much more interesting.

Kalemegdan

Belgrade is a city that if you live in the center everything is near you and you really do not need a car. Belgrade is the capital of Serbia and ex-Yugoslavia and all my roots are from there, actually I do speak Serbian with my family.
When I was young my relatives always took me to the big “castle” that stands exactly in front of the intersection of the rivers “Sava I Dunav” called Kalemegdan. That has been a fort of many different empires and kings throughout the history and there also stands an exhibition of all the rests of the Second World War and you can jump on the tanks and it was so so fun when I was a child.
Two years ago I went again with my cousin for the umpteenth time, but this time was really incredible. This time the only difference was that the sun was switched for the moon and it gave me a so different perception how I felt it and the moonlight made it so interesting and quite. The rhythm of the people was much slower, there were so many couples (not strange) enjoying the view to big part of the city. In this walk we did also a different route, we walked true the tanks and passed down some sort of bridges, then we passes thru some parts that were not just ruins and we finished walking near the zoo. And well the artificial light they put to illuminate parts of the building helped a lot.
I just want to invite you to Belgrade and to do this romantic-touristic walk.

PS: Contact me to tell you where the best pizza of the city is

Humans can be very blind

Hey there,
Today I am going to write about a hobby I do not have, sounds funny but we have to write about things you do more and less. Reading has never been my hobby, but if you find a book that draws you in then it goes the other way around, you just think about it and want to know what is going to happen next.

Last year I read a book that my Spanish teacher recommended to us and was it quite interesting in many ways; how can human behavior be like, levels of conciseness and human blindness. This book was written in 1931 by Aldous Huxley and it is called “Brave New World”. The first thing that made me think about the book was its title in Spanish (“Un mundo feliz”) that means “happy world”. So I thought it is about some type of utopic world, but when I began to read it, it was completely the opposite. It felt for me like some kind of human conscience disaster. It is about a world where people are like machines divided from alfa to delta groups, where alfa are the bosses and delta the least valued type of person. In a very “normal” timeline there is one person that begins to really think and ask herself what is all this world and well, I am not going to say more so u can read it without any spoilers. Just read it.

Pics :)

Hey there,
Today I will write about things I want to learn but I’m not certainly sure if I am going to learn. I am sure everyone has said so many times that “I want to do that”, but because of time or because that is not the most important thing to do at that moment, you do not do it. I would love to learn how to draw, how to surf or to learn how to be better in the things I can already do. But for sure I would love to learn to be a professional photographer.
I have been interested in photography for the last few years, I bought my self a “good” camera and I have begun to take pictures. But I am not happy yet with their quality, I feel it can be done much better. I do not think it would be too difficult to learn because I have the basics and the “eye” as they say. But for sure I need a good teacher and a lot of persistence to keep trying and developing my skills.

I do not have any photographer idol, I just look at some photographs and I say “wow, what a pic”. I am not interested to have an idol either, maybe that is the way to have originality in your photographs.

Viva México!!!

Five years ago i did my first plane travel alone. Well, before that... In 2011 my mom had to go to Mexico for work. When she was there she told my dad that that was the only opportunity for me to visit Mexico. Two weeks after that I was in the plane ahead to Mexico City. That was the first time I travelled alone by plane, I was secure and very confident for a 13 years old boy. My mom went for me at the Mexican airport and we went to visit this enormous city.
After a few days we went to the Mexican “Caribe”. What a place!!! We arrived at Cancun and then a bus left us in Playa del Carmen. That was a 100% touristic village, small, pretty, with more foreigners than Mexicans, and very unique for me. The sea there was almost warm and very salty but blue as the sky. The village was so small that we had to visit more than just that. Our best visit was going to three natural parks called Xcaret, Xplore and Xel-Ha. I do not know which one was more amazing. (I just do not know how to describe them, but I recommend the reader to go for sure). And how to forget the Mayan pyramids (Chichen itza and Coba), I was amazed every day more and more.
I must go back some day. Hasta la vista Mexico!!!
