Hey there, today I am going to write about a subject I
like at FAU. As we know workshop is the most important subject in Architecture
so if you do not like it, it is difficult that Architecture likes you for real.
Of course like Workshop, but I guess it is more interesting to write this time
about another subject.
This term we began with a new subject called “environmental
research” it is a kind of Urbanism class. It is a very nice and interesting
subject because we have two teachers: the main teacher is Paola Velazquez and
she is officially the teacher of urbanism, but we also have a sociologist that
actually gives most of the classes, we have been investigating and analyzing,
in my case, painters. In the beginning we began researching about all of them,
but then I had to choose one. Alex is the name of “my” painter and it has been
so nice to get to know so much about his life in Plaza de Armas. But going back
to the class. Luis, the sociologist is so interesting to give classes, it
really gets me interesting in how thing can be thought and how he, in a point
of a sociologist, sees things.
I have this class every Wednesday from half past eight
to twelve o´clock and why I think it can help in in the future is because
architecture is made a crated for people. So he know how people think and how
people behave and I feel that he transmits a little bit of that knowledge to
us. I am glad I am having that mix of sociology and urbanism together and I hope
it is going to be fruitful.
I think that will be cool work with sociologists because it's a good complement to urban investigations.
